At 4:30 Wed. December 6 the Mystery Readers will enjoy our annual Christmas party and book exchange. Bring a gift-wrapped book (or two) that you think someone will enjoy; do not be surprised or alarmed if the book that you choose is “stolen” by another member. You will then receive a chance to choose another book or steal from somebody else.

On Wed. January 10, 2018 at 4:30 Marg Cuddy will present the work of Icelandic writer Yrsa Sigurdardottir; the book that she recommends is The Silence of the Sea.

Our popular “Murder Mystery Dinner” will take place on Wed. February 7, 2018. Everyone is welcome to play a part or just kibitz.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Don’t forget to bring healthy snacks or money for same for the children at Mulvey School.

November 8, 2017- 5:00 pm.

Our movie is the first of a British series called “New Tricks” about a group of three retired policemen led by a disgraced woman detective; their mission is to solve cold cases of unresolved crimes. They are described as being “back on the job —the old dogs who won’t roll over.” Thank you Rhoda Sewell! The Current Issues and Actions Committee is also meeting this evening, so in-stead of ordering pizza we will ask the kitchen to prepare the same Express Supper for us. Please put your name on the sign-up sheet (or call me) so Chamberlyn’s will know how many meals to pre-pare. We’ll start the meeting at 5:00 pm. (instead of 4:30).

On December 6th we will enjoy our usual Christmas party and book “exchange”. Bring a gift-wrapped book (new or gently used) that you think others will enjoy; if you decide you like some-one else’s gift better than the one you opened feel free to “steal” it and the “ victim” will get an-other chance to choose another book.

On January 10th, 2018 Marg Cuddy will present the work of Icelandic writer Yrsa Sigurdar-dottir who appeared recently at McNally Robinson.
Don’t forget to bring healthy snacks or money for same for the children at Mulvey School.
